“MAYHEM: Mayweather vs. Maidana 2″, a 12-round world championship bout for Mayweather’s 147-pound titles taking place Saturday, Sept. 13 at MGM Grand in Las Vegas, is promoted by Mayweather Promotions and Golden Boy Promotions and sponsored by Corona Extra. The event will be produced and distributed live by SHOWTIME PPV and is the fourth fight of a lucrative six-fight deal with Showtime Networks Inc.

Mayweather vs Maidana 1

Maidana gave Mayweather a very physical fight but lost a majority decision on scores of 117-111, 116-112 and 114-114 on their first fight last May 3. It was arguably the toughest fight of Mayweather’s career and he got hit more than he had in years.

Maidana wanted to wear a pair or gloves that had been approved by the Nevada State Athletic Commission but Mayweather objected. The gloves were considered better gloves for a puncher and Maidana is known for his power. So the sides made a deal for Maidana to change gloves the day before the fight.

lets face it Black fighters are too good to lose to most non black fighters. They have the skills, Smarts, and a boxing Pedigree to muster excitement and generate interest to buy PPV. Latin fighters have a following based on race, nationalism but fail miserably when tested. I am speaking of todays latin fighters not the great Mexican fighters and Puerto Ricans of the past, Chacon, etc
